In the spring of 2024, we received a grant from the USFS to host a 6 month long innovative land-based business apprenticeship program on Solid Ground Farm. We spent 6 months working with 16 local farming, forestry, natural building, and environmental education enthusiasts with 5 exceptional mentors, tending to the Land, developing new programs for Rising Appalachian Warriors (RAW), growing sustainable, place-based businesses, and planting trees throughout the community. 

Our newsletter series was born from that experience, beginning with highlights of that time, and the projects we're working on now.
